Chitty Chitty Bang Bang played a five-night January run, and the programme had to work for a family audience: bright, playful and easy to read in a dim auditorium, while still carrying a full cast, band and crew list and the club's advertisers.
We carried the sky-blue and yellow of the poster artwork through the whole booklet, kept the credits in generous type with plenty of white space, and used small cast photographs to break up the lists. Dates and venue sit on the cover, so the programme doubles as a keepsake.
A few days from draft to print-ready, including proofs. Because the artwork was already agreed, the work was almost entirely typesetting and checking the credits with the committee.
